Utilities Billing

The Village bills residents for utilities on a quarterly basis. Bills are mailed on the first of January, April, July and October. The utility bills consist of the following charges:

  • Water – This is the charge for both the distribution and usage of water. Minimum charges include the cost of water treatment and distribution, and an allowance of 6,000 gallons of usage. Usage over 6,000 gallons is billed according to the Village’s utility rates ordinance.
  • Sewer – Sewer charge typically mirror water charges, and are used for the collection and treatment of wastewater. Usage exceeding 6,000 gallons is billed according the Village’s utility rates ordinance.
  • Stormwater – The stormwater fee is billed according to the Village’s utility rate ordinance, and is used for the installation, maintenance, and replacement of Village stormwater assets. These assets include storm drains, stormwater tiles, and detention basins.
  • Capital Fees – Capital water and sewer fees are collected and used for the planning and implementation of capital projects pertaining to the water and sewer departments.
  • Refuse – Refuse fees are collected for the pickup of recycling from residential properties. These fees only appear on residential accounts.
