Mark is a graduate of Sidney High School and a USAF 6 year veteran. He attended Wilmington College and Xavier University. He completed the basic police academy in 1987 and joined the Botkins Police Department in March 2012. Mark supervises our patrol officers and is our Field Training Officer (FTO). He has an extensive background in computer technology and he enjoys solving problems. Mark was sworn in as Chief of Police on May 1st, 2022.
A graduate of Sidney High School, Retired Chief Glass ("Tom"), completed the basic police academy in 1980.He joined the Village of Botkins on April 17,1989 as a full time patrolman and was later promoted to Police Chief in February 1993. Tom is also a volunteer member of the Botkins Fire Department. He loves animals, boating and fishing.
Chris started his career in public safety as a dispatcher for Sidney PD in 1996. He was sworn in as a Sidney Police Officer in 1998 and retired in 2024 as a Lieutenant. He has an associate degree from University of Tennessee and a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice from Franklin University. Chris has a wife, Joni, and 2 adult children, One a school teacher and one a police officer in Montgomery County.
Mark has been in law enforcement for over 20 years and is a volunteer paramedic. He has a background in computer sciences and works full time in the information technology world.
